Hello and welcome to our virtual home, kindly provided by Solutium, a local provider of reliable and extremely supportive webhosting.
The Poetry Kapow!s are a series of performance poetry events in the new city of Milton Keynes, North Bucks. We welcome anyone and everyone to have a go at the Open Mic and Slam competition slots, and there’s plenty of opportunities to get involved without having to expose yourself onstage...!
In between the bouts of lyrical shouting we also have local musicians soothing the air with acoustic sets. Come along, join in, and meet some like-minded people! We tend to hold the events in Madcap Performing Arts Centre, Wolverton, Milton Keynes.
We also get out and about performing here, there and everywhere and, just so you can join us, we’ve set up our famous Spoken word Calendar to let you know about all the fun coming up in the wider area.
If you’ve got any questions, just give us a shout.
But STOP! Before you do anything else, if you haven’t already, put the following in your diary:

|Events||A guide to the events that we’ve been part of here in the good ol’ M of K.
Both what to expect from forthcoming events and how to get involved, and a look back at the history of Kapow! How did we get here? Where are we going next? And will there be flapjack...?
|Guide to Kapow!||What are we, who are we? How does one Kapow!? All this and more in our Frequently Asked Questions and How To Guide||Gallery & Media||Beautiful pictures, sultry vocal recordings, scintillating videos of performances past. It’s all gone a bit multimedia!||Poets on Tour & Bardcore||We don’t just get on down with our bad selves at Kapow! Oh no - we give it welly all over the place, from local poetry brothers Tongue in Chic to events all over the south-east, midlands, and south coast, included the Big Smoke! Here we tell you where we’ve been and what’s worth looking up in the future.
The section also gives you a guide to up-coming events in these areas courtesy of Google Calendars. This is your chance to keep abreast of where you can see your favourite poetry all-stars in the surrounding area and a chance for you to come along and join in the fun all over the Midlands and South East England (tomorrow, the world!)
In the meantime, this is also the place to find out about Bardcore, the performance poetry quintet that combines poetry, percussion, music, movement, chorus and clamour to make an unforgettable live experience. Even though we say so ourselves.
