Latest Kapow! Spamphile

What-ho, poetry peeps!

It’s time again to wander out into the world of poetry and spoken word happenings. As ever, the Poetry Calendar is stuffed with lyrical items from all over the Midlands, East Anglia, and South East (including that London!). If you want to know how to get your event on the Calendar, just check out the handy-dandy guidelines the site links you to and away you go...

This week is as rammed with poetry quality as ever, most of which seems to be focused on the Wednesday. Whether you want to raise your Awen in Northampton, watch famous and nearly-famous poets go at it in a converted factory in Luton, listen to some quality poetry and music on the intertube radio waves, get up and do your thing on several London stages, or glam it up with East Anglian cabaret, you can’t say there’s nothing to entice you across the Kapow! Catchment on Wednesday! :)

The Poetry Calendar for the next two weeks contains about 90 different events. We’ve whittled that down to about 30 shows, open mics, slams, workshops and broadcasts which have in common either that Kapow! or Friends of Kapow! are involved, or that they’re events we’ve attended or would like to attend ourselves. In short, they’re recommendations steeped in nepotism and partiality, but they do demonstrate the range of the kind of spoken word wonders available in these parts over the next couple of weeks. And there’s twice that many (and growing) on top in the main Calendar itself!

You can find this hand-picked list here.

And that’s it for the moment. Stay tuned for further news about Poetry Kapow! events, the Poetry Calendar, and any competitions and chances to perform or be published that come our way.

If you’d rather never hear from us again, just let us know and we’ll cease from harassing you with poetry happenings. In the same vein, please feel free to forward this information to anyone you think might be interested, and let them know how they can join our mailing list.

If you have any other queries, please let us know.

Keep those upper lips supple, bardicators!

Fay (Calendar Ringmistress and Eradicator of ALL CAPS)
