The Second slam sought a different format, two poets, three rounds, with interim acts including local bands, acoustic stuff, comedy… oh, and an open-mic poetry slot. Indeed, the focus did seem to slip away from the poetry, but with the contest between the two poets (emoting and ranting in great mock-battle fashion) and the varied cast, it was an exciting evening’s entertainment. And there was cake… a lot of cake!

This round of Lyrical Armageddon was directly kicked-off by the events of the first, resulting in Monkey Kettle’s Simon Edwards “calling out” a dark rock poetry figure known only as “Bleed The Waiter”
